Program description.
Option offered through Liberal Arts, A.A.
This is a liberal Arts degree program with an emphasis on Music. This program is designed to equip students for seamless transitions into bachelor’s degree programs in music, including but not limited to the B.M., B.A., B.FA., or B.M.E. programs offered at four-year colleges and universities, like Rutgers University, Kean University or Montclair University. This program lays a solid foundation, providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their continued music education at the undergraduate level.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates will be able to:
- Apply theoretical concepts of music theory to analyze and interpret musical compositions across various genres.
- Demonstrate proficiency of the keyboard through perform repertoire at an intermediate level.
- Communicate musical concepts through performance of the keyboard, voice or instrument.
- Express both technical and non-technical music concepts orally, in writing and in electronic formats.
- Evaluate the various musical issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusions in music
After UCNJ
Graduates of this program will be able to transfer to a four-year college or university in a music education, performance, therapy and/or technology program.
